Summary
Frozen 2 picks up right where the original movie left off. The whole gang including Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven are living happily in Arendelle. Early in the movie, we see a flashback of Elsa and Anna’s childhood. While their parents place the girls in bed, they tell the story of an enchanted forest with a mysterious past. This sets the tone for what happens in the rest of the movie.
Soon, Elsa begins to hear voices calling her to go to the enchanted forest. This leads her and her friends on a quest into the enchanted forest, where she is to learn about her past, and save Arendelle from its fate. Along the way, there are multiple challenges and dangerous situations that must be confronted. During the adventure, new characters are introduced, as well as new songs.
Review
For Frozen fans, the sequel will be a pleasant experience. Much is added to the original story that helps to explain such things as the demise of the girls’ parents, and the source of Elsa’s powers. Family secrets are revealed that can be pleasant to know or sad. Added to this, are the mix of emotions that the film produces from its viewers. At times the movie is funny, sad, romantic, or just plain silly.
Although not as moving as the original movie, Frozen 2 still has a lot to offer. The settings are still amazing and the songs are catchy and memorable, although none of them are on the same level as “Let it Go.” Children and adults will still enjoy the sequel as an addition to the franchise. Even though its been six years, Frozen 2 gives the audience a good experience that helps fill some holes left from the first film. So if you are a fan of Frozen, then be sure to check out Frozen 2!
