Netflix’s new sci-fi, mystery, horror, series involves ten attractive people who find themselves waking up on a deserted tropical island. None of them know why they are, and they attempt to piece together the clues. Their memories have mysteriously been erased, but they do learn each others’ names because everyone has a name-tag sewn on the back of their white shirts.
Soon their personalities come out and we learn what kind of people they really are. The group includes a master manipulator, a woman with a major attitude, and even a rapist. These are the three main characters of the series, while the other seven apparently do not have interesting enough personalities to focus on.
Where do I begin with this series? I have read other reviews where it has been suggested that this may be the worst series this year. I’m not sure if that is true, but The I-Land will surely be a contender. Everything about it is lacking. From the lackluster acting to the cheesy scene props, it will likely not see a second season. If you cannot control your curiosity, then you can simply watch the first three episodes, because by then, everything about the series is revealed. The only silver lining about The I-Land is that there are only 7 episodes in the first season.
